Sale of REJH Annouced

The sale of Real Estate of Jackson Hole was announced in todays paper. The Buyer is Chris Johnston who has been a member of the community for several years. The terms of the deal were not disclosed other than he bought a majority stake in the company. I suspect there will be some fallout over the next few months with more than a few prominent agents coming and going from REJH.

This is an interesting column on the Denver Chanel 7 web site about the rising real estate prices in Aspen. Historically, we seem to be following Aspen and it’s not too much of a jump to assume the same will happen in Jackson someday soon. Jackson has more to offer in the summer (two national parks, the Snake River, 97% of the land protected, better and easier public and private Jet service) and the JH Mountain Resort is constantly making improvements to make the ski area more user friendly. For better or worse, I really think that is the direction we're heading.

Interesting Real Estate transactions this week:

A .45 acre lot in Indian Trails Listed for $735,000 (Probably $115,00 too high)

3br/3ba 1290 sq. ft. townhouse in Rafter J listed for $550,000

6.76 acres of commercially zoned property on the corner of Hwy 22 and Hwy 89 listed for $8,850,000. Not a typo.

2br/3ba White Ridge condo in Teton Village closed for $650,000

3br/2ba Rainbow Trout unit at the JHRC listed at $1,050,000 went under on contract after being on the market for 10 days. They're beautiful units and border the SRA Ranch with terrific Teton views, however that’s about $100,000 more than the last one sold for 3 weeks ago.

And the most interesting was a 3br/2ba house in Cottonwood park was listed for $740,000 went under contract in TWO days. Amazing.
