Good Skiing

Well, the storm we've been waiting for finally arrived, bringing close to 30″ over the past few days with another 6″ expected today. The JHMR opened up the Thunder lift yesterday and the reports were very good. Apparently Sublette will open Saturday and the new East Ridge summit chair sometime next week. It’s pretty heavy, wet, snow which is great for this time of the year. Covers the rocks! The heavy snow created pretty spooky avalanche conditions too. Apparently the ski partol triggered more than 50 slides yesterday morning and Glory Bowl on Teton Pass slid across the road.
Went to the new Mizu Sushi and I have to say it quickly jumps to the top of the list as one of the best restaurants in town. It’s hard to say which place is the best, but Mizu has to be in the conversation. It now serves hot dishes as well as traditional sushi fare.

And finally, this little gem from the US Treasury. Apparently, due to the rise in the cost of metals, it now costs 8 cents to make a nickle and 3 cents to make a penny. I'm still trying to put my arms around this one.
Al Upsher has sold the Snake River Brewery. Thanks to Al for creating a place that everyone always felt so welcome. It was a great run.
