The Four Seasons- Jackson’s best
Stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel on Wednesday night and if you’re in the mood to really treat yourself (and someone else hopefully) I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s not cheap and availability can be limited, but it’s really a wonderful property. In October I stayed at the Wynn Hotel in LasVegas and I left there thinking it was the nicest hotel I’d ever stayed in. That’s no longer true. The Four Seasons Jackson Hole is better, on just about every level (The Wynn has certain amenities that only a Vegas hotel can offer, but that’s a discussion saved for another time). The rooms are nicer and bigger, the service is better, and our dinner at the Westbank Grill was fantastic. So if the Wynn is supposed to be the benchmark in Vegas, then the Four Seasons in Jackson is better than anything in Vegas. Not to mention that the location is ridiculously close to the Gondola and Teewinot. Safe to say, this ain’t your fathers Jackson Hole.
15” in the past 36 hours with another storm forecasted to roll in Saturday and Sunday (see the link to Mountain Weather on the side of this page) The Mountain is really beginning to shape up and the skiing is very, very good. The Lower Faces and Hobacks are in really good shape and when this happens, Jackson Hole becomes the best ski area in the country. No contest.
Real Estate:
Cendant, the parent company for Sotheby’s was recently sold to the private equity firm called the Appollo Group. Who knows when this sale will begin to have an effect on the Jackson Sotheby’s Brokerage, but eventually it will. The guys in the Apollo Group eat their young. They’re not going to pay 9 Billion ( Coldwell Banker Real Estate was also included) for anything unless they have big plans to make it more profitable, and the quickest way to accomplish this is to cut costs. It will be interesting to watch.
$23,000,000 now gets you a 5800 sq. ft. house on 105 acres at the Bar BC ranch. It does have some of the best Teton views in the Valley. Or, if you’re feeling a little stretched out after the holiday spending, for $10,000,000 you can have the 38 acres with the same amazing views at Bar BC. No house though.
A 441 sq. ft. Studio condominium listed at $525,000 at the Teton Mountain Lodge is under contract. HOA dues are $5200 annually. So naturally…..
Another 441 sq. ft. Studio condominium at the Teton Mountain Lodge listed for $550,000. HOA dues are $5200 annually.
3.25 acres in the Yodler Subdivision (1.5 miles from Teton Village, close to Snake River) listed at $2,700,000 sold for $2,400,000. Considering what the prices for the lots at the new Golf Course in Teton Village are going to be (about the same for smaller lots, very near by) I actually think this was a pretty good deal.
