Was that Prince’s guitar or was he just happy to be there?

OK, it wasn’t bad enough that Prince came out for the half time show wearing the prison rag on his head (Nobody can pull that off, well, maybe Elle McPherson, circa 1989), or that he somehow thought it OK to mix Dylan’s unparalleled “Along the Watchtower” with the frickin’ Foo Fighters. What was really completely unforgivable was the Prince’s phallic silhouette without one shout out to the International Man of Mystery himself, Austin Powers. Outrageous. And I have to imagine that after trying to cope with the driving rain, the director of the halftime show quietly poured him/herself a tall glass of vodka when they saw Princes improvised dong silhouetted on a 40’ screen.

That being said, two more hours of Prince (and the two ridiculous strippers gyrating next to him) would have been better than what we saw in the second half of the game. Had it not been for the super cute red head sitting next to me and those delicious little pizza like things being passed around, the whole night would have been a bust.
JACKSON HOLE GRAND TETONS Here’s a pretty cool shot taken from Spring Creek during the last full moon.
If anyone hasn’t seen Jennifer Swett’s “Guest Shot” shot piece in last weeks paper titled “Baby Man”, you have to check it out. It’s excellent stuff.
Speaking of last weeks paper I was a little annoyed by the headline in last weeks paper “Heat on to push cheap Housing”  (http://jacksonholenewsandguide.com/article.php?art_id=1396 ). It would be nice if they called it what it is “essential housing” or even “affordable housing”. The News and Guide seems to want to constantly stir the pot and it gets a little tiresome after while.
Real Estate:

1.31 acres zoned Auto Residential on the corner of Hall and Redmond FSBO (Scarlett Family) asking $6,000,000. Apparently there are 8 lots on the property, which brings them home at $750,000 per lot. Probably too much today, but not in six months and it’s one of the last large pieces of land available in town.
2br/2ba Sleeping Indian Condominium, recently remodeled, great views to the South, 928 sq. ft. listed at $850,000. As prices per foot go, this is only slightly less than what the condominiums in Crystal Springs building (next to Mangy Moose) are going for and those were built in 2004 and they are nicer.
3.97 Acres on West Gros Ventre Butte, Teton Views, listed at $895,000. BUY IT.
4br/4ba 3509 sq. ft. Ski/ski out house built in 1967 on .60 acres listed at $3,450,000. Seems like a lot of money for a house that needs a major remodel, but they’re not making anymore ski in/ ski out properties so it’s hard to think it will loose value. Kind of like the values of property on the ocean.

Swine Hearts and Sweethogs Ball fundraiser for the underappreciated Jackson Hole Ski Patrol tonight on the Moose. Music by the incomparable “Mandatory Air”. Buckle your chin strap and don't miss it.
