Illegal Smile
Went to get my John Prine tickets today and it was not a pretty site. At 10:15 there were probably 50 people in line. I saw a friend at the front and asked him to grab me a couple so I wouldn’t have to wait. Shortly thereafter it was announced that it was sold out b/c all of the on line purchases. Needless to say all the people waiting in line, many of which had driver to the Center for the Arts box office because the system wouldn’t allow them on line, were pretty pissed. And rightfully so in my opinion. The people waiting at the actual venue should always get first bite of the apple, not Joey Bagofdoughnuts in Hoboken or Boise. It’s a terrific facility and it’s really a shame to have the first big event to be held there leave such a bad taste in peoples mouths. They gotta do better next time. I do think people also forget how small/intimate a venue it is. I don’t know the actual number but I’m guessing only 500 or so seats.
These two pictures pretty much sum up last weekends skiing. It was definitely a fun couple days due to all the special events (Mandatory Air Rocked!!) but the skiing was interesting. In the 17 years I’ve been skiing here, It’s about as thin as I’ve seen it. Typical of Jackson weather we received 14” for all of March and we’ve h
ad 16” so far in April.
Here’s a nice story from the News and Guibe about local girl Resi Stiegler.
Real Estate:
There are 84 houses or condo’s listed for sale in the Victor/Driggs area for under $400,000.
There are 4 condo’s in Jackson for under $400,000
There are 377 lots in Victor/Driggs for under $400,000 (that’s in the MLS, there are probably another 100 that are not in the ssytem). In Jackson, there is one (1).
And you wonder why there is now a moratorium over there now.
The least exspensive single family home in Jackson is now $585,000. 3br/1ba, 1070 sq. ft. in Cottonwood.
1br/1ba Balsam unit at the JHRC listed for $495,000. Under contract in 2 whole days.
1br/1ba, 760 sq. ft. , top floor, listed at $559,000
Last week a .5 acre lot listed at $775,000 went under contract in 5 days sooo, this week another came on at $785,000. Amazing.
2br/1ba 750 Sq. ft. condo on Millward St. closed at $405,000. That’s 540 p/sq.ft. It’s creeping up.
