Utah Driving School
Having spent a fair amount of time traveling between Salt Lake and Jackson, I feel confident in saying the only thing worse than waiting for your morning coffee fix while someone pays for their triple soy low fat extra hot latte with a debit card is getting stuck behind a car with Utah plates when you actually have to get somewhere quickly. Seriously, where did these people learn to drive? The little car merry-go-round ride at the County Fair? A school bus with 3 flat tires moves faster than car with the arches on the plates. And just put a knife in my groin if it happens to be a minivan too.
Looks like Jamie Mckay and Co. are in for a fight trying to get their Osprey Creek (formally the KOA) development passed by the County Commissioners. It’s a very dense project and 80 lots may be a little too many but it is an opportunity to get a lot of permanently deed restricted affordable houses built as well as a number of small (50’ x 150’) market value lots that MAY help fill the gap that is widening between the very wealthy and those who want a small free market home. There are a ton of factors for the County Commissioners to consider and it’s by no means an easy decision, nor is it a silver bullet for the housing crisis is Teton County. However, as land becomes scarcer and property values continue to go through the roof, it may time to put up or shut up when trying to deal with housing in Jackson.
Played golf at the Snake River Sporting Club again yesterday. It’s an amazing, beautiful, golf course that is averaging 5 rounds of play a day. Nobody is playing which is just a crime. I really believe if they want to make that project go and get the real estate sold, they have to get people on the course and create a little buzz.
As if you needed another reason why you would never want to be President, the entire free world knew that George Bush had a colonoscopy on Friday. Greeeaat.
Here’s an update on the fires burning locally here. Honestly, I'm surprised it’s not worse.

jack , paying with a debit card takes the exact same amount of time as paying cash! not everyone has cash on them all the time!
funny though.
Yo Jack. You could be driving on the freeway in Portland, Oregon if you really want to get your boxers wadded up. Not suprisingly, covered wagons don't move as fast as newer modeled cars on account of you happened to be traveling during Utah’s saddest “holiday” next to Confernce (spelled the way it’s said) weekends. Nice to see you and glad you're back, I mean Jack. So have you sold any property today or are you still pining over only now getting to know your local drive-in theater(s)?
