Boiling Rabbits
Went to the new resaurant “Blu” on Friday night and, as expected, the food, service and atmosphere are excellent. As with most things in Jackson, it’s not especially cheap but the food is served as a series of small plates, (tempura scallops were amazing) so if you don't want to eat too much you can have it fit your budget. The space was designed by Peggy Dunker and it is really, really cool. Put it on your list to check out.
Here is an interesting article for all you aspiring real estate agents. You have to admire a 66 year old guy who can pull this off. It reminds me of this story about former LA Ram and San Francisco 49er Jack “Hacksaw” Renyolds
- J “Hacksaw” Reynolds earned his nickname in college for using a hacksaw to cut a car in half in a fit of anger following a loss (Seeking to set the record straight, after hearing someone describing him sawing a Jeep in half, Reynolds said, “That’s not true. I love Jeeps. It was a ‘53 Chevy.”). “I cut through the entire frame and drive shaft, all the way through the car. I started on Sunday and finished Monday afternoon. It took me eight hours total time,” said Reynolds, describing the efforts. He had purchased a cheap hacksaw and 13 blades, breaking all of them by the time he was done. After finishing the work, he got a witness and went to bed. The next day, when he brought more of his friends to see his handiwork, the car was gone, with nothing but the 13 broken blades left behind. “To this day,” he said, “I don't know what happened to the car.”
If you know any Met fans, you might want to check in with them, and try and talk them off the ledge.
I watched the second half of “Fatal Attraction” a couple nights ago. I've heard women complain that this movie was anti-feminist and so on. I completely disagree. If there was ever a movie that promotes staying in a marriage and keeping the dogs from wandering, this is it. And how the pet rabbit industry ever came back after that movie is beyond me.
