We're going to need a bigger Boat

Sad to see old friend Chief Martin Brody, aka Roy Scheider, passed away over the weekend. He was the one voice of reason during that chaotic summer of 1976 on Amity Island, and uttered the now famous line “we're going to need a bigger boat” to Quint. A line, incidentally that has been re-quoted by literally hundreds of thousands fisherman throughout the successive years since. ( BTW “It’s only an Island if you look at it from the water” as a response to Hooper asking him, why, if he was afraid of the water, would he choose to live on Island?, is a line that has stuck with me for years as well).
Roger Clemens has waded into the deep end of the pool and he’s forgotten his water wings. A very sad end to the career of maybe the best pitcher ever. Did he take HGH and steroids? Of course he did. I want to believe him, I really do, but put aside all the he said/he said and just look at common sense and he doesn't even begin to pass the smell test. It’s like when your girlfriend doesn't come home one night and then shows up stinking of whiskey and wearing another guys shirt, yet claims she was just out with the girls and slept “friends” house. Right. As Bill Clinton, no stranger himself to Congressional hearings, once said “If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck” .
On the topic of Roger Clemens, “misremembered”?? Really??. The folks down at the University of Texas must be so proud.

The first public hearing for Teton Meadows took place Monday and after 4 hours of public comment, and more still waiting to go, they continued the meeting it until Wednesday at 5:30. This is reminding me of the debate surrounding the SRA application a few years ago.
This looks like a pretty good return on investment!
Had my first meal at Osteria, the new restaurant in Hotel Terra, and it’s very good. Has sort of the same feel as the Rendezvous Bistro, which isn't surprising because it’s more or less the same management/ownership.
Today is Valentines day, and if you're a guy and haven't made plans yet with your little sweetie, call up the boys, buy a 
bottle of Makers, maybe a 12 pack, put your feet up, turn on Sports Center, and have a great night, because your relationship is O-V-E-R.
