Game 6
Driving home from work the other night, this entire herd of Elk ran right in front of my car. Scared the crap out of me but pretty cool nonetheless. I was so startled by the sight that it took me a while to find my camera.![]()
I stopped by the KOA on the Village Rd the other day and saw one of the model trailers they are thinking of installing there. I've seen the concept done a couple times before, most recently at the Rustic Inn off of North Cache. I also stayed at the Calistoga Ranch once, which is in the heart of Napa Wine Country. It’s an Auberge Resort and one of the finest hotels I've ever seen. Really spectacular. And the whole thing is on wheels. Every room is a movable trailer. I'm note sure what the plan at the KOA is, but I can tell you it can be done, and done very well. Here are a couple shots of the model.![]()

They're firing up the guns at Teton Village. Opening day is scheduled for November 28th. ![]()
Even with all the cold weather lately, there are still days when you can find good dry fly fishing on the Snake and the surrounding Rivers. This picture was taken last week and fishing was quite good. I'm heading south of Jackson tomorrow as the forecast is for temps in the low 60’s.
It’s never too early to be worried about avalanches as this group from Summit County, CO found out.
Game 6 between Yankees and Phillies is tomorrow night and it should be good. From Fisk’s series tying 13th ininng home run in ‘75, Reggie’s 3 bombs on successive pitches in ‘77, the ball rolling between Buckner’s legs in ‘86, Joe Carter’s walk off clincher in ‘93 and Josh Becket’s shout out gem as a 22 year old in 2003, Game 6 of the World Series has provided some of baseball’s greatest moments. Tune in on Wednesday, you may see something very memorable. I'll have the pumpkin lit once again.
Lastly, 85 years ago Wednesday, the first female Governor in the United States took office as Nellie Ross was sworn in as Governor of Wyoming.
